After its international launch in September 2010, jeep Australia has announced the local launch of the updated for 2011 Patriot SUV. The 2011 Patriot SUV receives a new front bumper along with fog lights as a standard feature, a new rear bumper, 17-inch alloy wheels. Available in four colors choices. The interior of the Patriot also gets the upgraded equipment, using a new soft touch plastics and new steering wheel mounted with wheel controls.
Mechanical updates are emphasized to revisions to the steering and suspension tune. The Patriot’s drivetrain still retain the previous model, empowered by a 2.4 litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 125kW at 6000 rpm and 220Nm of torque at 4500rpm. Offered two transmissions, those are a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. Completed with Chrysler’s active on-demand ‘Freedom-Drive’ system including a selectable Lock mode. The Patriot produces fuel consumption rate at 8.4 l/100km for the manual transmission, while 9.1 l/100km for the CVT.
Heated and foldaway side mirrors, engine immobiliser, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio control and tilt column are coming as its standard feautures. The car featured with a new centre armrest, premium bucket seats up front, backlit door, window and power mirror controls and for the Limited trim provided a standard automatic temperature control. It also offers an option feature that is Chrysler’s Uconnect Voice Command system.
For the safety standard feature, the car is provided with front-passenger airbags and side curtain airbags. Supplemental driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side airbags are also provided as an option. The active safety features are available include ABS disc brakes, hill-start assist and electronic stability control with brake assist, traction control, electronic roll mitigation and brake lock differentials.
